Jesus is crucified. The entire redemptive story is culminated in this pinnacle event. Jesus experiences the Father’s wrath on the cross. Jesus is forsaken by the Father and experiences utmost separation and loneliness so that all of His redeemed children will never have to. Because of His death, people are welcomed by God. This is the ultimate sacrifice foretold by the prophets.
