Scripture Text: Hebrews 2:5-9
This week, Pastor Timothy addressed God’s design for humanity to be rulers in the Kingdom to come. This was evidenced all the way back in Genesis with Adam subduing creation, and according to Hebrews, it will come to full fruition in the future. This is made possible because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is the One, who for a little while was made lower than the angels, so that he might conquer sin and death and re-institute us (His redeemed) into positions of authority over His works.
Intended to Rule
1. Humans are intended to rule, but we defied God (vv. 5-8).
- Humans were created in a unique position.
- Humans were created with unique privilege.
- Humans were created for unique power.
2. Jesus fulfills God’s intention (v. 9).
