Continuing on in our Matthew series, we have now come to Jesus’ trial before Pilate, the religious leaders and the angry mob. In this text we see that only Jesus ever perfectly entrusted Himself to the Father’s control, and is therefore worthy of all our trust. Even thought Jesus is falsely accused, beaten and slain, He is in control. Pilate and the religious leaders grasp for temporal gain, but only Jesus can bring eternal gain. He took a greater curse than we could ever imagine and He gives a greater gift than we could ever dream!
