- To lead us to compassion.
We are prideful. Hell summons us to humility.
We are self-justifying. Hell summons us to see the sinfulness of sin.
We are self-glorying. Hell summons us to see our need for God’s glory
We default to trust ourselves. Hell summons us to trust God.
Even as Christians, we can be tempted to think we’re “fine.” Hell reminds us to be zealous for obedience.
We can tend towards judgmentalism. Hell summons us to be compassionate.
