  • Big Idea: The Bible moves past petty concerns and commands us to engage our bodies in worship.
  • Why does God command Physical Posture?
    • To physically represent spiritual realities (Ps. 95:6-7)
    • To express that Jesus saves us wholly.
  • What postures are commanded in the Psalms?
    • Internal posture of humility (51:17)
    • Shouting (22:6)
    • Bowing (95:6-7, 38:6)
    • Standing (22:23, 24:3)
    • Dancing (149:3, 150:4)
    • Clapping (47:1)
    • Lifting Hands (134:2)
    • Every posture reminds us that God is great and that we are weak – and that we can ultimately trust in Him. They remind s of what He has done, who He is, and what He has said He will do.
