Matthew 27: 1-14 (click here to read passage)
Continuing on in our Matthew series, Pastor Timothy takes us through Matthew 27:1-14 and here Jesus reveals to us the many different responses that were made in regard to His final hours of life. Judas responded in guilt and shame, but shame that does not find it’s identity in Christ cannot save. The Pharisees respond with religious ritual and although religious observance may look good on the outside, it cannot save. Pilot responded in amazement at Christ’s demeanor, but having only amazement for Christ cannot save. None of these are able to save us, only the person of Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross can save.
