Continuing on in our Matthew series, we now come to Jesus’ prayer to the Father. Pastor Timothy took us outside of the book of Matthew to John 17 where Jesus’ “High Priestly Prayer” is recorded. Here he exhorts us to realize the glories of Jesus’ prayers for His children. Jesus prays that the Father would be glorified by the Son being glorified. Jesus prays for the work to continue in His first disciples. Jesus prays that His disciples would experience unity, protection, and sanctification. Jesus prays that His work would continue through all of His disciples until He returns. Do we live in light of the fact that we are answers to His prayers?
