Matthew 26:1-16 (click here to read passage)
Continuing on in our Matthew series, we come now to the end of Jesus’ parables and teachings. In Matthew 26, Jesus reveals to His disciples for the first time when He will be delivered up to death – Passover night. Jesus reveals Himself as the Passover Lamb that needed to be sacrificed for the penalty of our sin. He is the first-born of God, and at His expense the children of God will be set free. Immediately following this, Matthew begins to draw the attention of his readers to see who it is that truly treasures the Messiah.
