Pastor Timothy opens Romans 2:1-5 with the proposition that YOU have no excuse. Why?

1.) God’s judgment falls on those who practice “such things.”

2.) The self-righteous do “such things.”

What is the truth about God?

He is kind (referring to the benefits God gives to us)

He is forbearing (bearing with sinners knowing the magnitude of their sin).

He is patient (referring to bearing long with sinners, without punishing)

3.) The self-righteous self-justify.

4.) The self-righteous are under God’s judgment.

Repentance isn’t primarily a change of behavior. It’s a change of orientation, from idols to God Himself.
