Scripture Text: Hebrews 5:11-14

As the author of Hebrews continues to teach a struggling church, he breaks away from talking about Melchizedek and decides to bring his main concern to the forefront: the church has become dull of hearing God’s truth. In this section of Hebrews, we find some of the most difficult words in the whole book (and also the New Testament), but with firm love, we discover how serious God is about our good.

  • The Christians have become dull of hearing (v. 11).
  • The Christians ought to be teachers by now (vv. 12).
  • The Christians must be taught the basics (vv. 12-13).
  • The Christians must know and live the truth (v. 14).
